Can A Pelvic Tilt Help My Back Pain?

Let’s see if I can catch you. Your reading this article so far aren’t you? How is your posture? Are you catching yourself out? Are your shoulders over your hips and your ears over your shoulders? Great if they are, if not well not to worry at least you have become more aware of your posture. Perhaps you can here my voice in your ear saying “how is your posture, can you improve on it, how does your back feel?”

With your practice you will no longer have acute pain; yoga will help you to recover faster and help prevent injury not just to your back but your whole body. From head to toe your body will become re-vitalised, strengthened, toned, flexible … you get the idea. As an aside, tell me and no offence intended are you one of the people that suffer with back pain and do nothing about it?

Let me explain. Over the years I have taught yoga, and worked as a spinal therapist on many cases of back pain. The work I have done has been very successful to bring their bodies back into line. However … many have gone away free of back pain and some time later have come back because their back pain have returned. Why?  You may well ask. There does seem to be an area where some do not carry on with their exercise programme and as a result they back to square one.

Why is it that they do not carry on with the programme knowing that it will bring back their pain? Please do not get me wrong, I have a lot of sympathy for them, my job is to help those on their journey whatever way I can. So what can I do to turn this around?

As they say you can lead a horse to water … Your feed back would be much appreciated.
