Back Pain Distractions Part 1

Have you noticed that with Back Pain how we deal with it? Most of us have an issue with back pain at one time or another, and depending on how much we have hurt ourselves, depends on what we do and how we do it.

For the moment let's take a view that we haven't locked our back up, we will come to that later and that we have hurt our back and it is giving us some rather uncomfortable feelings. We might have just bent down to pick something up from the floor or we might have lifted something.

If it's a slight 'twinge' what do we do? In the main, we ignore it in the hope that it will go away. If it's a bit more serious, it gives more pain what do we do? Again we think that we will do something about it, and we don't.

We may distracted by some event to take our mind off the subject and it MAY go away. Unlikely, that this will happen because the body has stored the memory of the pain and trauma however small. What usually happens is that we 'live with it, we find a 'comfort zone' that we can cope with and it doesn't matter the level of this comfort zone.

Some people will endure a lot of pain to avoid doing anything about their particular issue or back pain. We get distracted, and for whatever reason we avoid doing anything about our back pain. It's not important enough, we live with it.

What is important is that if we ignore it, the pain just gets stored and buried into our systems, our bodies, then another event takes place and the same thing happens. We store and bury it, like an onion with many layers until the body says enough is enough and locks up completely, making us notice and to repair the damage.

So why do we allow this to happen? That's what we do, we have a choice to do something about it in the early stages, but we don't.

What is it that motivates us to do something about it? For some, they will have a 'light bulb' moment, agh that makes sense and will do something about it. For most, they will go through a lot of pain and suffering before they will change their view. They will say "this pain is too much I am not going to do this anymore" and they will change their view and make steps to correct the damage.

Depression also comes into it. If we feel depressed (and sometimes we do not know we are a little depressed) that also will have an effect on what we do and what we chose to do. We need to know how best to make the choice's for our wellness.
