Back Pain And Handbags Part 2

A recent survey by Nurofen the pain killer company say that 70 per cent of 1000 women said they had regular pain when carrying around all this extra weight.

There seems to be three hot spots of pain for women, 68 per cent for shoulders, 35 per cent for necks and 28 per cent for arms.

Over time as this carries on, the body will adapt to this extra load and the supporting muscles and around the spine will compensate for the imbalance unless is addressed.

Have you noticed how you walk? Are your toes pointing out as you walk like at ten to two? A good way of looking at this is when you walk in the rain or on a beach and you look behind you seeing the impressions you make. If your feet are pointing outwardly and not corrected you could end up with what is called a Charlie Chaplin walk.

To take it to its maximum, as the inner thighs (the adductors and abductors) are not worked, then the posture begins to go if it hasn't already. Then round shoulders and stooped posture starts to form and one then has to walk with walking stick to help with walking and support.

So for the sake of this article with women who wants to look good with their handbags and high heel shoes it would be good to minimum the damage that could happen. Shorten the heels and reduce the items weight of the handbag. Also try to switch shoulders to even out the pressure of the handbag or shoulder bag.

Lose the hand bag when you can, if you can avoid carrying it do so, is there really a need to carry it? Shorten the heels of shoes (good reason to buy another pair of shoes) to avoid pressure on your spine. Do simple stretches to help counter the effects of your fashion.

Look in the mirror to see how even or uneven your shoulders are with and without shoes on.  It may surprise you. If you know you have an imbalance then you can do something about it, you may not want to, however if you carry on with your way of fashion then there is going to be some damage later on and could be difficult to correct.
Even at this stage you can still do something to correct any imbalance, it may not seem much, but the little difference makes a big difference.
