Yoga asana practice is one of the most potent ways to cleanse the body and maintain optimal health. A major reason for this is the focus on deep breathing. During this workshop you will learn the inside-outs of how to use a variety of breathing techniques while practicing asana to increase overall benefits and support the healing of any dis-ease.

One way to lift your spirits is to practice Yoga postures (asanas), which will raise your endorphin levels. Endorphins are hormone-like substances. Endorphins naturally occur, within your body, containing amino acids, which attach to receptors, and stop pain signals to the brain.

The term "hatha yoga" (pronounced HA-TA) means willful or forceful. Hatha yoga refers to a set of physical exercises (known as asanas or postures), and sequences of asanas designed to align your skin, muscles, and bones. The postures are also designed to open the many channels of the body especially the main channel, the spine so that energy can flow freely.

Yoga for weight loss is a method that has been used to repair your body into a natural state and help to develop every area of your body. Understanding how Yoga works is a great place to begin.

Practice is the Willingness to be Present Practicing well does not necessarily mean you are able to perform amazing feats of physical or mental agility. It may help to remember that the postures are merely tools, not an end in themselves. Rather, practice is ultimately the willingness to be present to being willing to remain present with your love, hate, fear, joy, bliss, or boredom. This then is the most difficult yoga pose.

Adho Mukha Svanasana is one of the poses in the traditional Sun Salutation sequence. It's also an excellent yoga asana all on its own. Stay in this pose anywhere from 1 to 3 minutes. Then bend your knees to the floor with an exhalation and rest in Child's Pose.

Here are some of the best yoga poses for relieving back pain. Each pose should be held from five to ten seconds, depending upon your level of comfort, and should be done on a mat or other soft, supportive surface.

Yoga defines yama and niyama as the positive and negative aspects of behaviour respectively. Traditional texts mention ten yamas and ten niyamas but Patanjali's Yogasutra, which is considered the original treatise on yoga, defines five yamas and five niyamas.
