Namaste
It seems that the past year has been full of change and uncerainty in the world with financail crisis, great loss and circumstances that are unexpected. For many it has been a struggle to keep going. Nobody seems to know what is happening and feel a loss of control.
Some have lost their homes, job, and personal losses. This must be quite scary place to be in. There are some that have not been affected by the ‘credit crunch’ but to some degree we have all or will be effected. There is a lot of doom and gloom out there and it is so easy to get caught up in it. We all know someone who has been effected by the current crisis.
It may be hard to do when you are facing some of the above, even if you are not you feel the ‘vibration’ of those who are. So where ever you are intend to send love and compassion to those less fortunate than you. You may be going through a tough time also and to try to find a positive attitude may be hard work. I feel for you and send you love and healing energy.
We can all send out love by going deep inside ourselves and sending out the smallest compassion to those in need. It is the intention that counts and a little goes a long way, the energy that we reflect is what is taken in. Practice compassion, loving kindness, karma yoga, meditation even giving emotional support to a friend or family member, the smallest act can make a profound difference.
The more we raise our energy level the more we are able to help and wake up others next to us. At times we only want life to go our way and everything to be great. When we encounter hardship, struggle, loss or disappointment we tend to think “why is this happening?” Instead of seeing the potential growth, possible freedom or lesson we may be granted by the circumstance.
I came across this passage which I thought might help you. It is from The Wisdom Of Yoga A seeker’s guide to Extraordinary Living By: Stephen Cope.
In the entire world, there is not one human being who is free from pain. Even in favorable conditions, a person encounters struggle. The external form of struggle appears to be cruel. Some describe it as a horrible demon, but its nature is not malicious. In fact, it is proper to welcome struggle, for its arrival is always auspicious. Struggle keeps us from growing sluggish. It changes an animal into an ideal person. It transforms an ordinary human into a spiritually awake person respected by the world….It is alright if we cannot receive struggle with love, but struggle should never be discarded. To discard struggle is to discard God’s grace.
With all the negativity about aim to do your best, and when you feel down or those close to you try to stimulate the senses, go through them all and see what you can do. Over time a small act leads to a big one. A single drop of water on its own does nothing, but over time can create a gorge.
Stay happy and be with your loved ones, connect with them, tell them you love them and share this Christmas as much of yourself as you can. And remeber to put some time by for you, even if your loved ones are not with you keep them in your heart.
Let me take this opportunity to thank you for your loyalty and support, you also help others by contributing to this site. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2009 and that you have health in the body, peace in the mind and joy in the heart.
