Acceptenace Guaranteed

Hi

I saw this recently and thought it might help you on your path. As the title says "Acceptance Guaranteed". This phrase usually carries a catch, and if the next words are "no medical necessary" you know that this is all about health or life insurance. If you can pay the premiums the company will be happy to have you - on their terms. Or  have you had one of those pre-printed applications for a credit card? Just sign and it is yours. It may be free for the first year, but after that?

The idea is attractive: we all like being accepted, approved and affirmed. What do these ideas make you think of?
"You have been successful in your application for the post of ..."
"We would like to offer you a place ..."
"We are pleased to tell you that you have passed ..."
Someone, somewhere likes what you have to offer.

Or how about these ideas?
"Thank you for what you have done for me ..."#"Will you be a godparent to my child ...?
"Thank you for helping me with ..."
"Can I name you as guardian in my will?2
Someone likes for what you are and values your abilities.

Or what can you say about this?
"Will you marry me?" - "I will."
Someone loves you for who you are.

A man I know was deeply touched many years ago when his step children then aged about five, asked him, "Can we call you daddy?2 This is unquestioning trust, and it leaves few of us unmoved.

It only takes a few words, and if they are sincere the effect can be enormous. However, human likings are mostly based on what we can get. To be accepted we have to pay something, achieve something or be something that someone else wants. There is only one acceptance that is guaranteed and not dependant on anything we can offer in return. It cannot be bought, it cannot be earned, and it cannot be deserved. It is on constant free offer to anyone who chooses to take it up. It is better than all these things put together. It is God's love for us.

Take care until the next time.
